Every American presidency since 1789, drawn as a span from the day the president took office to the day he left it. Forty-seven presidencies, forty-five men: Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump each served two non-consecutive terms and hold two numbers apiece. Eight presidents died in office, four of them by assassination. One resigned. Spans are colored by party. The current term ends on 20 January 2029.
