1. Create the timeline. Give it a name and a boundary. It is private from the start and stays private until you say otherwise. A title, and a line about what it is Visibility set at creation, changed anytime One subject per timeline: a trip, a case, a company, a life
2. Add an event. One at a time. Name it, date it, pin it to a place, then attach whatever belongs to it: photos, links, a paragraph. An event can be an instant or a stretch. A signature at 09:14 is one. A tenure of nine years is another. 3. Group it into chapters. Anything long needs parts. A chapter gathers events under a heading, so a year of entries has a beginning and an end rather than just a length. Optional. 4. Say how much of each event to show. Dates the way you write them, order the way you read them, colour by whatever you are comparing. How to add events in bulk. Nobody should type a long chronology twice. If the events are in a folder of photographs or in a spreadsheet already, Boromlia reads them from there, and you check the result before anything is saved.
