Boromlia vs Adobe Express for timelines: a life story or family history kept as dated events with photos and places, private until you share it.

Adobe Express offers static and animated timeline templates for social posts, flyers and videos. Boromlia is for the timeline you keep: a life, a family or a trip as dated events, each with its photos and the place it happened.

The main difference: content for a post versus a record of a life

A template is made to be seen once. A personal timeline is made to be returned to. In Boromlia each moment is an event with a date, a place with coordinates, the people in it, tags, a few lines of text and up to ten photos. Bulk upload reads where and when each picture was taken and groups them into draft events you rename and regroup, so a decade of photos becomes a dated, mapped story with little typing. A photo with no GPS position gets no place.

Questions

Can Boromlia make an animated timeline video?
No. It draws timelines for reading: a river, cards, a map and spans, plus a ribbon, a table and a document on Advanced. It can play a timeline full screen one event at a time, but it does not export video.
What happens to my photos?
Each event holds up to ten. They stay private with the timeline until you share it, and export returns them as a zip with an index file naming the event each belongs to.
Can my family add their own memories?
Yes, on Advanced. Turn on adding for the share link; each relative signs in with a free account and adds events, which are credited to them. Only you can change the settings or who it is shared with, unless you hand that over.
