Venngage timeline alternative: Boromlia vs Venngage

Boromlia vs Venngage for timelines: export a PDF and a CSV on the free plan, keep it private, and add events without redesigning anything.

Venngage makes timeline infographics from templates, and its free plan shares publicly and downloads nothing. Boromlia keeps a timeline private until you choose, and exports a PDF, a CSV and the photos on every plan, the free one included.

The main difference: an infographic versus a timeline you maintain

An infographic is drawn once. A roadmap, a product history or a release log is not: it moves every quarter. Boromlia stores each item as an event with a date or a range, tags, a chapter, a source and photos, so a slipped date is one edit. The Spans style puts ranges and single dates on one axis, and on Advanced the Ribbon lays the same items out left to right, the way most roadmaps are drawn.

Questions

Can I download my timeline on the free plan?
Yes. Every plan, free included, exports an A4 PDF of the timeline in the style you are viewing, a CSV with one row per event and every field, and a zip of the photos with an index of which event each belongs to.
Will a roadmap built in Boromlia update on our site?
Yes, if it is embedded. On Advanced the embed is one iframe tag that shows the live timeline, so when a date moves you change it once and the page shows it on the next load.
Can I brand a Boromlia timeline?
Within limits. You choose the style, a cover image and what each event shows, but there is no brand kit and no free layout. If the look must match a design system exactly, a design tool is the better fit.
